WHEN STUDENTS CHOOSE TUFTS,
IT IS IN LARGE PART BECAUSE OUR COMMITMENT TO
ACTIVE PUBLIC SERVICE GOES WELL BEYOND THE
TRADITIONAL NOTION OF VOLUNTEERING.
For more than 150 years, Tufts has regarded its liberal arts tradition
as one of its most precious assets. The dynamic nature of knowledge and
society means that, to protect and sustain that tradition, we must constantly
evaluate and evolve our approach.
At the School of Arts and Sciences, the roads to discovery have multiplied
thanks to greater cultural and social influences incorporated into curricula
and study-abroad programs. Yet we have also preserved one of our most
valued signatures: small classes and accessible faculty. Despite nationwide
trends, we have stayed small, nimble, and dedicated to supporting a diverse
community of learners.
Now, with the Beyond Boundaries campaign, we are looking beyond today
to the next generation, aiming to uphold these defining values in an age of
intense competition for the best and brightest students and faculty.
