BEYO ND BOUNDARIES
News of the Campaign for Tufts Winter 2008
Beyond Boundaries, Beyond Expectations
Tallies to date exceed $725 million and 78,000 donors
In name and in scope, Beyond
Boundaries and its $1.2 billion goal
reflects a vision to propel the university
forward across all schools
and disciplines. The most ambitious
fundraising effort in the history of
Tufts, the endeavor was publicly
launched on November 3, 2006.
Tufts had already raised half of the
campaign’s goal during its “quiet
phase,” which began in July 2002.
Only through the dedicated support
of many donors can Tufts achieve
the Beyond Boundaries vision of
creating a first-class place to learn
and to teach, of bolstering financial
aid, and of dramatically enhancing
the university’s ability to serve
the world. Yet progress indicates
that the university is well on its way
toward these goals: to date, the
university has raised more than
$725 million.
Almost all of Tufts’ donors are participating
through the Annual Fund,
which helps school deans meet their
annual priorities, including faculty
salaries and student scholarships.
Additionally, some donors are investing
in the long-term vitality of the university
through endowed gifts, and
others are improving the campus
infrastructure through capital gifts.
